What is elasticStage?
elasticStage is the world’s first on-demand vinyl and CD platform for music creators, including independent artists, labels, managers, and rights-holders. They allow creators to create, sell, and ship custom vinyl records and CDs globally, with no costs, no inventory risk, and no minimum orders.
Instead of pressing hundreds of records in advance, elasticStage uses a made-to-order model: each vinyl or CD is only manufactured when a fan orders it. This means creators can sell their full catalogue physically without ever selling out.
Why did I choose elasticStage?
For an independent artist, releasing an album on vinyl or CD traditionally means paying to manufacture hundreds of records in advance, finding somewhere to store them, processing individual orders, and managing packing and shipping – all with no guarantee that every copy will sell.
elasticStage offers a different model. Each copy of A Little Travelin’ Music: 20th Anniversary Edition is manufactured only after a fan orders it. There are no upfront manufacturing costs, no inventory to manage, and no fulfillment operation for an independent artist or label to maintain. It allows me to make this album available on vinyl or CD without taking on the cost and risk of a conventional pressing run – and it means the album never has to sell out.
The tradeoff is time: because your record is being made specifically for you rather than pulled from existing inventory, manufacturing takes approximately three weeks, followed by approximately one week for delivery. The estimated dispatch date is visible on the elasticStage order page. I want to be transparent about that before you order – but I hope you’ll agree that having this album available on vinyl or CD is worth the wait.
